2. Bavarian State Research Centre for Viticulture and Horticulture
Field trip to the Bavarian State Research Centre for Viticulture and Horticulture, which scientifically and practically supports the Franconian wine industry. This includes the promotion of ecological viticulture, market-driven wine production, water protection, the safeguarding of natural resources and the improvement of the competitiveness of Franconian viticulture. The field trip includes a roundtrip through their facilities including the cellars, a lunch at the cafeteria as well as wine tasting in the vineyards. Please note that the number of participants is limited. Meeting place for the bus trip is close to the Residenz in the Husarenstraße at 10 am [4h, 20 €].

Field trip to the Steigerwald centre and the treetop path Steigerwald. The centre aims at promoting sustainable forest management and wood use, and the 1,150 m long treetop path provides insights in all vertical canopy layers of a Central European broadleaved forests. After arrival and a guided tour through the forest, lunch is served at the centre. At the end, the treetop path will be visited
